Oriental Mood

Oriental Mood is a residential interior design covering 1400 square meters in Shanghai. Water is treated as the first element of the scheme, following the linked land and water of the Jiangnan water garden. The first floor of the existing building already shared this rhythm, with rooms and trees set around a central pool. Images taken from the natural landscape are placed within the static architectural space, so details and time shape the mood of each room. Materials include metal board, rock board, ceramic tile, copper board, wood veneer and gypsum board.

Central Park

Central Park is a sales office and reception centre located in Xi'an, China. The interior covers 1500 square metres and stands beside a large urban ecological park of about 113.4 hectares, which serves as a natural landscape resource. The plan follows the visitor route in four stages: introduction, elucidation, transition and summary. Each stage is expressed through a pavilion, falling leaves, lake water and a single tree. A glazed leaf installation runs through the space, moving from the entrance wall to the foyer ceiling and into the pool.

Nina and Beni

Nina & Beni is a solid wood chair inspired by the forms of wooden boat structures. Two steam-bent strips cantilever over the seat, serving first as legs, then as armrests, and finally shaping to the lumbar area. The chair is made of ash, cherry, oak or walnut from sustainably sourced forests, and is finished with natural oils and waxes. Molds cut on a five axis machine guide the steam bending and the lamination of the wood strips. The seat is removable and interchangeable. The shaping method limits material waste.

Planck

The table is made of different pieces of plywood that are glued together under pressure. The surfaces are sandpapered and threated with a matt and very strong varnish. There are 2 levels -since the inside of the table is hollow- which is very practical for placing magazines or plaids. Under the table there are build in bullet wheels. So the gap between floor and table is very small, but at the same time, it is easy to move. The way the plywood is used (vertical) makes it very strong.

Infinity

The main emphasis of the Infinity armchair design is made precisely on the backrest. It is the reference of the infinity symbol - an inverted figure of eight. It is as if it changes its shape when turning, setting the dynamics of the lines and recreating the infinity sign in several planes. The backrest is pulled together by several elastic bands that form an external loop, which also returns to the symbolism of the infinite cyclic of life and balance. An additional emphasis is placed on unique legs-skids that securely fix and support the side parts of the armchair just like clamps do.
