The interior covers 600 square meters with a floor height of 6 meters and includes 150 table seats and two private rooms. Water is the design theme, and light is the main design element. Scenes of rain, water, cloud and fog are placed in different areas. Stage lighting methods highlight themed devices against a large black background. Cloud shaped table lamps descend when guests are seated. An intelligent lighting system adjusts colors for different events.

Continue readingFengyuan Original is an interior design for a restaurant that serves coconut water chicken hotpot. The shape of the coconut tree is abstracted into a single symbol, the palm leaf, produced in eight forms from green plated and polished stainless steel, each four meters long. A total of 475 metal leaves are arranged across the interior, forming partitions that separate functional areas and turn the restaurant into a large installation. A water feature, lamps and tables complete the setting. The use of one material and factory prepared parts keeps cost and construction time under control.

Designed with a unibody logic, the plastic sheet transforms into a complete chair with simple pinching and pulling moves. Its seamless, cohesive appearance creates an intuitive and dynamic visual image. The design allows for stacking during storage and stable placement on a dining table when flipped upside down, which is convenient for restaurant staff to clean the floor when closing.

These are transformed in order to adapt to a certain environment and a certain function. In this way, both utility and structure are solved maintaining the original geometrical essence of the piece, and becoming a more organic and more complex object. Nikao side table interacts with the observer in a natural way. Its magnetic shape, together with the warmth of the material, makes the user to come closer, touch it and sit next to it.
