Tau Murano

Tau Murano is a small coffee table made of two blown glass elements joined by a thin metal band. The two-tone design gives the table a soft shape and a luminous appearance. The soda-lime glass is blown on a mold following the ancient Murano tradition, and it is then cut and ground by master glassmakers. Each tile holds a wine bottle and carries a small light that illuminates the tile below, so the only other light source is a single spotlight above the central table. The tiles were made by artisans in Jingdezhen, China, using a feather textured blue glaze of the Song Dynasty. Cooling is managed by a smart controller.
